McCain Suspends Campaign to Help With Bailout

John McCain announced that he will suspend his presidential campaign on Thursday to return to Washington to help with Wall Street bailout negotiations. He urged his opponent Barack Obama to do the same.
The Arizona senator also asked the Presidential Debate Commission to postpone Friday’s scheduled debate with Obama so that he can work on the financial crisis bailout plan now on Capitol Hill. The first debate had been set for Friday at the University of Mississippi in Oxford.
“America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen,” McCain said in remarks to reporters from New York.
Obama said he spoke earlier in the day with McCain, who suggested that they suspend the debate.
“I thought this was something that he was mulling over. Apparently this was something he was more decisive about in his own mind,” Obama said in a press conference scheduled late Wednesday in Florida where he was preparing for the debate.
“I believe we should continue to have the debate,” he said.
Obama said the issue is nonpartisan and he would not allow the bailout plan to become welfare for Wall Street executives or an opportunity for political ploys.
“There are times for politics and there are times to rise above then do what is right for the country. This is one of those times,” he said.
McCain said he will leave the campaign trail after delivering an address to former President Clinton’s Global Initiative on Thursday morning. He canceled a Wednesday afternoon taping of The Late Show With David Letterman show and a Thursday interview with FOX News. The campaign said McCain will also suspend airing all ads and fundraising until the legislation passed.
McCain would particpate in Friday’s debate if Congress passed an agreement by Friday morning, his adviser Mark Salter said.

I think it was a very good idea… I hope they can straighten this out thing. This is truly necessary and a good decision.
But Obama rejected. He said we could do 2 tings at the same time!
Yeah right... he can't even do one! This is why McCain should be president.

Sarah

Contrast Hillary Clinton’s path to that of Governor Palin. Hillary toes the shop-worn, tie-dyed liberal feminist line for years while constantly defending her husband who embodies the traits of the patriarchal male predator. When it is finally her turn to begin implementation of her Stalinist dreams and get into public office she makes the gutless choice of US Senator and cherry picks the state that gives her the best odds. She doesn’t have the political courage to make a decision and stick with it. Governor Palin on the other hand began her career I am sure getting up out of her folding metal chair in the midst of her middle class neighbors, speaking her mind, and winning their trust. Her rise was incremental and I get the impression required a lot of direct dealings with many of her constituents. When she finally earned the position of governor (in the HER state, not one she had picked for political expediency) she knew what was right and she did it. She would never let herself be used as a political prop for a philandering husband.

Barack Obama's Muslim Connection,

A new media cover-up?
Hussein Obama in an ABC interview slipped ? up by saying “my Muslim faith.” I am a Christian. If I were in an interview or otherwise, I would never even think of saying “my Buddhist faith” or “my New Age faith” or “my Episcopalian faith.” I am none of these. I have never intended to be one of these.
Usual slip of the tongue? I don't know. But when he didn't catch it - George Stephanopolous had to catch him and correct him - I was very disturbed. The body language, the frightened eyes, and the stammering that followed George's correction really told the whole story. 0bama screwed up. He revealed the truth. And you can't unring a bell.
If nothing else, this proves the one thing that we have known for quiet awhile over here. Without reading a prepared speach off of a teleprompter, 0-bama is not very bright. He flubs it right and left. The same MSM that tried to crucify President Bush for his flubs seem to conveniently ignore 0-bama's many flubs. :144/10:21:6-->
The Internet is alive with excerpts from a Sunday news show where Senator Barack Obama told George Stephanopoulos of ABC that Senator John McCain had not raised questions about "my Muslim faith." While undoubtedly a slip of the tongue, it is time to revisit the question of Obama's "faith." The past week has brought devastating disclosures for Obama. The mainstream media have used coverage of the Republican National Convention as a pretext to ignore those disclosures. Before we move on, two cautions or "caveats." I accept that Barack Obama is a Christian today. Christianity is the original big tent. He appears to meet the visible criteria for being a Christian. Second, there is nothing wrong with Islam. In probing for Obama's candor or veracity about his religious history, I have no reason to demonize Islam. Although, I'm not ready for a Muslim to be our President. I am solely concerned by Obama's steadfast efforts to deny or erase his religious past. Ironically, many of the Islamic faith believe Obama is Islamic and are proud of that fact.

Bailing out Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae

Freddie and Fannie are the nations biggest money laundering operations. If they failed, all kinds of garbage would come spilling out, and that just can't happen.
Our national debt is not money that our country owes to itself or a meaningless number like a lot of people think, it's actually the amount of money that the U.S. owes overall to other countries in the world. Each year the U.S. government borrows billions from other countries like china, Russia and many from the E.U. and pretty soon the interest payments on our loans are going to exceed the GDP. The question is not whether our economy will fail, but rather how the rest of the world will react when we start defaulting on our debts to them

McCain 50% ~ Obama 46%

The Republican National Convention has given John McCain and his party a significant boost, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken over the weekend shows, as running mate Sarah Palin helps close an "enthusiasm gap" that has dogged the GOP all year.
McCain leads Democrat Barack Obama by 50%-46% among registered voters, the Republican's biggest advantage since January and a turnaround from the USA TODAY poll taken just before the convention opened in St. Paul. Then, he lagged by 7 percentage points

The polls DO NOT MATTER. This will galvanize the dems. Dead people will walk, the blind will see, felons will be freed. We can never, ever become complacent. For me, it's still as much about keeping Obama and his puppeteers out as it is ushering McCain / Palin in. We could survive a McCain presidency even w/o Sarah Palin on the ticket. But this country will be wounded for a long time to come if Obama gets in. I believe that with all my heart.

He Admits It!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKGdkqfBICw

If I didn't see it and hear it, I wouldn't believe it!

When did the media turn into a tabloid?

The sole objective of the main stream media is to get the gotcha moment.
And you can be sure that they will be watching every word that comes out of Saeah Palin's mouth. Jut waiting to jump on it and say: "I told you so"
These clueless buffoons already have too much power in this country. They can make or break a person just with one false article. Unless that person is a John Edwards. How long was it before they published the truth about him? And it was only because they had to.
Sarah has no compelling reason to ever meet with these biased bastards.
Look at how she is treated by that racist big mouth Oprah, who usually can't stop talking. If Sarah were black she would have been on her show in a flash.
Anyone who heard Sarah Palin's rousing speech at the GOP National Convention should now understand why Democrats have been trying to destroy her. And why, luckily for the country, they've failed.
Mess with a hockey mom and go after her family, and you're bound to lose some teeth.
Such as when Palin drew a distinction between "candidates who use change to promote their careers," and "those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change." Or when she said that "a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities" and small-town folks don't know what to make of candidates who talk about them "one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco." Or when she described Barack Obama as "a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or even a reform" and someone who "can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting and never use the word 'victory,' except when he's talking about his own campaign."
Don't feel bad for the Democrats. They asked for it. The bunch that President Bush aptly described as "the angry left" has been high-sticking Palin since Day One with a series of assists from their friends in the news media.
Palin took a well-deserved shot at the media: "Here's a little newsflash for those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion. I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this great country."

Things are looking up.

Sarah is outstanding. The media tried to destroy Sarah and her family and she showed them what she is made of. She showed her love of family and country and is so real, natural and articulate. It's a great ticket for us now.
Not only have both the Republicans and Conservatives fallen in love with Sarah Palin, but we are energized with the idea that the future for our point of view is suddenly much, much brighter. The libs are dying , this is NOT a "Democratic year", the Republicans and Conservatives have some new voices and new, attractive faces Steele, Jindal, Palin to name a few. Things are looking up!

The Palin Baby

Stories like this hit close to home for everyone simply because we all know people who have been through this. My biggest concern is simply for Bristol. I don't know anything about her boyfriend , but I do know that she comes from a very careing family.
The way that the left wing is jumping with glee over this story is discraceful.
The Palin's are the real deal. They are handling this with class. And class is something the left knows nothing about.
I've said this since the Palin announcement. the Messiah and his VP didn't generate much of a bounce last week, and the Palin announcement sucked the air right out of their coloseum circus.
McCain chose Palin, even knowing about Bristol. That is enough to draw ME closer to him because I doubted him early on. but i have gained new respect for him since.
It is most telling though that the left is relishing the expected complete destruction of the republican party as the christians flee in droves over this. They expect a backlash against Palin that will destroy the McCain presidency. They think that because we believe in living toward a higher moral goal, we will crucify anyone who shows the slghtest human failing.
Yesterday, Newt Gingrich said that the democrats are terrified of Sarah Palin. and that they see her as the possible second coming of Reagan. She just needs to hold on to that. Her speech tomorrow night will be critical. I wish her all the good luck in the world.
The left will never understand being a Christian. They somehow think Christians think of themselves as perfect and therefore should never sin.
Well they are wrong and sarah along with Bristol will prove it.
Mark me down for a vote for the McCain/Palin ticket.

The Pregnant Issue. Or Is It An Issue?

As I surfed the Blogisphere today, I found that the .Conservative bloggers struck back today at their left-leaning Web counterparts, blaming them for forcing the family of John McCain’s vice-presidential choice, Gov. Sarah Palin, to release the news that their teenage daughter was pregnant. But right-leaning bloggers also used the megaphones of their Web sites to tout the idea — just as Republicans here at the convention site were doing — that a teenager giving birth and keeping the keeping the baby — reinforced their anti-abortion, family beliefs. And they seized the news today to attack Barack Obama on his abortion rights views.
For several days, rumors had swirled around on the Internet -– including links on highly trafficked Web sites to speculative, accusatory posts — about whether the Palins’ youngest son Trig was actually their grandson. This morning, the campaign released a statement from Governor Palin and her husband that their oldest daughter, Bristol, who is unmarried, was pregnant.
On the one hand, conservative bloggers and Republicans alike tried to put a positive “pro-life” spin on the startling news, highlighting the fact that the 17-year-old Ms. Palin intended to keep the baby and marry the young father. At HotAir, conservative blogger Michelle Malkin’s headline blared: “Bristol Palin Chooses Life. Now Leave Her Alone.”
Supporters coupled this decision with the one made by Ms. Palin’s parents not to terminate the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of Trig, who has Down syndrome, earlier this year. Anti-abortion activists and religious conservatives have cited that facet of Governor Palin’s maternal life as reassuring evidence that she embraces their views, even if today’s news about her daughter served yet again to reveal how much they don’t know about John McCain’s running mate.
If anything, this whole situation will probably make more people around the country relate to her and her family. It makes them more real. Will there by some turned off by the whole pre-marital sex thing? Of course but this type of story doesn’t sink her at all with Evangelicals.
Obama made this statement earlier this year:
“Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old,” Obama said. “I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn’t make sense to not give them information.”
Several Republican commentators and bloggers were quick to point out that teen pregnancies do occur, no matter what the party affiliation, no matter what the parental policies, in government or not. But liberal bloggers and Democrats were just as fast to highlight Governor Palin’s positions on sex-education for teenagers and her stated belief in abstinence-only education.
I applaud the Palins for their candor and their decision to be compleletly transparent with the public, and expect the vast majority of decent Americans of all political stripes will respect their wish to keep the young couple out of the news. This is hardly a rare story, though it is always a difficult one for families to work through. In the end it just means that Sarah Palin will not only be the first woman and mother to be vice president, but also the first grandmother to hold the office as well.
Obama said the pregnancy “has no relevance to Governor Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president.” He added that, “my mother had me when she was 18. How a family deals with issues and teen-age children – that shouldn’t be the topic of our politics.”
“So,” he added, “I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories.” BUT! Did he really mean it or was that a BS story knowing that this was not going to just fade away by itself?
But who was it that said "‘Let me be a clear as possible: I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics.” It was Barack Obama, thats who!

But, the personal issues of family members have no business in the political discourse. Alas, we have seen that concept trammeled.
Thank you Victor.
